REFUcube, the centralized string inverter solution in an ISO container, was announced winner of the Solar+Power Award 2017 in the Solar PV BOS Category during the official award ceremony on September 26th in Amsterdam, Netherlands. According to Angel Business Communications, the producer of Solar + Power Awards, the Solar PV BOS Award recognizes the contributions of non-panel devices and systems to improve operational efficiency, ensure long-term satisfaction and support changing needs.
REFUcube is available in four power classes – 1, 1.6, 2 and 3 MVA and comes in a 20 ft. (for 1 MVA) or 40 ft. container (1.6-3MVA). This centralized string solution includes REFUsol string inverters, MV/LV transformer, MV switchgear, LV switch board, DC connection panel, auxiliary transformer and auxiliary switchboard as well as grid protection relays. All components (DC, AC, and communications) are pre-wired and tested to ensure seamless installation and commissioning. REFUcube was first launched at Intersolar Europe 2017 in Munich and combines the advantages of central and string inverters while minimizing the respective risks.
Judges commented on REFUcube that it “simplifies and standardizes the development of renewable energy commercial-scale utility plants by combining the benefits of string and central converters into one shipping container.” These benefits were acknowledged by the industry professionals voting for their favorite product and making REFUcube the award winner.
